The Father's House International

Dear Fathers Family,

This update comes from an exhausted mind and a heavy heart.  There has
been a team from The Father's House in the Astrodome since Monday (Vance Murphy, Lisa Bourland, Steve Davis, Bud Breamer and Jason Dunn).

Vance received a phone call from his good friend Pastor Larue Atkinson in
Houston on Monday morning asking us to come.  There were a team of
doctors that were asked to volunteer and they said that they would but
only if they could bring an evangelistic team with them.  Within hours we
were on the floor of the stadium.  Since we were with the medical team we
had full access to every part of every building.  We wore the same badges
that the doctors wore only ours read Harris County Hospital Prayer Counselor.

We started covering the floor at midnight (we were the only five people
on the night shift).  People were just lying on their cots in the
darkness.  Most of them were just staring off into space.  Our Father
gave us a wonderful gift....a 48 hour open heaven before we were locked
out of the center.

We prayed for sickness....and Jesus came.  We prayed for salvation...and
Jesus came.  We prayed for comfort and peace...and Jesus came!

The Gospel was given freely until agencies appeared (I will not mention
their names) on Thursday and said that there would be no evangelizing. We
felt Heaven close and the Spirit grieve.  We packed our bags and left for
the airport.

Our Father gave us a window of opportunity that closed as quickly as it
opened.  Again, we were reminded that delayed obedience is disobedience.
Thank you Father for allowing us to see you reveal your heart to your
children!

Picture # 1 - Bud Breamer with David Sims.  David's young daughter is missing.  He made many trips rescuing people on boats and mattresses.

Picture # 2 - Gloria Davis with grandsons John and Earnest.  Gloria's son-in-law is missing.

Picture # 3 - Lisa Bourland with Terri Smith (Age 37).  Terri's was taken from the water.  Her son, mother and father are missing.

Picture # 4 - Vance Murphy and Steve Davis with Mary Wells.  Mary is confined to a wheelchair.  She was rescued on a mattress by a man pulling her through water that was over her head.

Picture # 5 - Shavonda (12), Sheldon (6), Alexis (8) and Doneisha Martin are happy that all of their family members are together.

Picture # 6 - Wayne, Ryan and Walter were rescued on mattresses.  They realized that they had come close to death.  All three of them repented of their sins and ask Jesus into their hearts.
